A Chardonnay from 2013? Believe it! The winery Il Carpino near the Slovenian border makes lovely minimal intervention wines. This reserve Chardonnay from the Venezia Giulia denomination is made with 7 days of skin contact and aged in large Slavonian oak for a year followed by aging in stainless steel, then held in bottle for several years before release.

Alcohol Content: 14.0% vol.
Tasting notes: The color of this wine is an intense golden yellow with orange tones. The aroma is intense and complex, with notes of candied fruit, resin, and sweet spices. On the palate, it is smooth, warm, and full-bodied, with good freshness and rich in aromas.
Pairing Suggestions: Pairs wonderfully with white meat, grilled fish, veggies, risotto, pasta, tomato sauce, and fish.
