We designed this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Friuli native varietal Terrano to yield a fruit-forward and spicy red. Oak aging provides a softness on the palate while maintaining a great structure. A perfect introduction to the powerful potential of Friuli red wines–a region most famous for its whites.
Typology: Red Wine blend Production area: Friuli Venezia-Giulia Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Terrano Fermentation and refinery: Four months in stainless steel to complete malo-lactic fermentation and tartaric precipitation. 12 months in small barriques of various sizes of French, Californian, and Austrian oaks, followed by an additional 12 months in large barrels of Slavonian, French, and Austrian oaks. 4-6 months aging in bottles before marketing. Tasting notes: Intense ruby red color with brown, almost dark nuances. Overall strong intensity of aromas including vanilla, raspberry, green herbaceous notes, mature fruits and spices. On the palate it is warm, velvety, and soft with spicy notes. Great structure and long persistence. Serving Suggestions: Pairs well with nice pasta with sauce and any kind of ragù. Meat is always a great combo, including game and white meat.
