Friulano (2018)

  • A fantastic and unique orange wine that made Friuli famous, and that is sure to do the same for your cellar! This Friulano has been aged in amphora for 7 months, an old-world technique that gives this wine a great complexity while maintaining moderate acidity, freshness and fruit.
  • Typology: Orange wine
    Production area: Gramogliano
    Grape variety: 100% Friulano
    Harvesting: By hand in September
    Training System: Guyot and Cappuccina
Fermentation and refinery: Manual harvest of the grapes, de-stemming and maceration of the skins with the must for 38 days in Amphora. Soft pressing and subsequent decanting of the must in tank stainless steel. At the end of the decantation, the must is put back in amphora. The wine will then remain for about 8/9 months in amphora. After this period, the wine is poured into a steel tank for further decanting. Bottling will follow and then a period of bottle aging.
Tasting notes:  Intense straw yellow in color with light green reflections. The nose hints of apple and white flowers. The taste is dry, fruity and with moderate acidity.
Serving Suggestions: Pairs well with cured meats, asparagus, main meat courses with herbs, shellfish baked flavored with herbs (thyme, oregano, marjoram) and grilled or roasted white meats.

Winery: Visintini
